I have been reflecting on who I would want to come for me from the other side to help me transition when my final hour on Earth draws near. In my case, I hope it would be either my mother or my stepmother. I imagine that at the end of life, I might feel vulnerable in many ways, so as far as I’m concerned, I would feel truly blessed if either of them were to come for me. Both were remarkably kind and always made me feel safe and secure.
I find myself wondering: who decides who comes for us in our final hour? How is that decision made? Is it possible for more than one loved one to come through for us? Do they accompany us through the “tunnel of light,” or do they simply lead us there and meet us again on the other side?
I carry so many questions about this intriguing mystery of life after death. Yet, in my heart, I sense that some of these questions may only be answered when my own time comes. I take comfort in the belief that, whatever awaits, we are ultimately met with love.
