Some people are surprised to learn that their loved one on the other side may use colourful language during a session with me. I generally don’t filter out any part of the communication, although I do warn clients if such language comes up. When we cross to the other side, we retain our personalities and characters. So, when our loved ones come through, they come back as they are and as they always were.  In most cases, clients find this humorous and are happy to receive proof that their loved ones are still very much alive, albeit in a different realm. The use of colourful language further reassures them that it really is their loved one coming through, someone who has not changed or lost their personality in any way.

On one occasion, a lady whose husband came through laughed out loud when I told her that he was sparing no swear words when referring to his brother. She confirmed that her husband and her brother-in-law had never got along and would bicker at times like little children. Her husband later shared that he no longer felt the same degree of dislike towards his brother, but he still called him a “son of a b***h”.

On another occasion, a young man came through and connected with his brother. He greeted him with an expletive, much to my client’s delight. My client explained that this had always been his brother’s light-hearted way of greeting him. It was a moment of recognition that left no doubt in my client’s mind that his brother had come through. Witnessing the two brothers reunite was deeply moving.

Contrary to what some people believe, no filter on the other side prevents colourful language. On the contrary, we remain who we are, and that is never taken away from us.
