On several occasions, I have come across comments and posts that reference the term “soul contract,” along with the idea that we “choose” our path before we are born into this world. I am not entirely sure where these ideas originate, and I remain unconvinced by them. Over the past forty-plus years of my life, I have been in service as a reader and, to the best of my ability, have provided what I believe to be compelling evidence of life after death. However, to date, I have not been presented with any evidence that supports the theory that we choose our life path before birth, or that we somehow enter into a so-called soul contract.

I also struggle to understand why anyone would choose a life in which they give birth to a child, only to watch that child succumb to cancer, for example. What meaningful or positive lesson could reasonably be derived from such a devastating experience?

Furthermore, with whom is this supposed contract drawn, and does it imply that one is irrevocably bound by its terms?

I am sharing these thoughts in the hope of fostering a healthy and respectful discussion, one in which we can learn from one another. I value and welcome your thoughtful and positive participation.
