It usually takes a dramatic shift in our lives, an extreme situation, to open our eyes to possibilities that lie beyond the boundaries of what we consider acceptable. Dramatic events can compel us to question and explore what lies beyond our familiar reality and comfort zone. The world as we once knew it changes completely when we lose a loved one to the other side, not only because they are no longer physically present in our lives, but also because we ourselves are transformed. We are no longer the people we once were.
When I am booked for a session by someone who may previously have been sceptical about life after death or the paranormal, I do not attempt to do anything beyond what I would normally do to convince them or make them believe. Instead, I convey whatever feelings, thoughts, sounds, or visions are impressed upon me, and it is ultimately up to the client to decide for themselves what meaning they attach to the experience. Deep down, I hope that my clients receive enough evidence to help them discover the possibility that life is deathless. I have long accepted that what is meant to be will be. Not everyone is destined to become enlightened, regardless of the evidence presented.
The paranormal is a world of wonder, and I believe we stand at the edge of a much larger picture. Even so, we are gradually learning to recognise and appreciate the possibility that worlds beyond our own exist. In time, that truth may supersede our narrow and archaic understanding of life and expand our perception of what it means to exist.
