When our daughter was a baby, she slept in her cot bed in a spare room with me, so my wife could have some space to recover. As many parents know, you have to adapt to your baby’s sleep patterns and catch whatever precious rest you can while the baby sleeps. It’s essential for regaining energy.

One afternoon, I placed my daughter in her cot and went to bed myself. I was exhausted and desperate for rest, so I began drifting off almost immediately. Suddenly, I heard a little girl’s voice in my head, very loud and clear, saying in Arabic, “I am thirsty.” The clarity of it startled me awake. I immediately checked on my daughter and brought her some water. She was overjoyed to see the bottle in my hand and drank heartily. She had been thirsty, and thanks to that voice, I was able to respond. After drinking, she quickly fell back asleep.

I sat on the bed, reflecting on what had just happened. Who was the voice? I’ve always believed it was my daughter somehow communicating with me, perhaps telepathically. Now that she’s older, I often think back to similar moments we’ve shared, where we seemed to connect on a level beyond words.

Is this kind of bond common? Have other parents experienced something similar? I’d like to think so. Perhaps we remain connected in ways we don’t fully understand, even on a telepathic level.
