“Aren’t we disturbing their rest on the other side if we try to communicate with them?”
I am asked this question from time to time, and although I have addressed it in a previous post, I will write about it again.
The short answer is no. We are not disturbing their rest, because there is no state of rest on the other side that we could interrupt. Our loved ones are not suspended in some quiet, dreamlike state without awareness or concern. They are not detached from their earthly reality. Many myths surround the afterlife, and most come from individuals who offer little beyond personal opinions that may not be grounded in truth.
I speak as a reader with more than forty years of experience, and I am here to share what I know rather than what I merely think. People, myself included, need clarity. They do not need more confusion. I take my role seriously because it carries real responsibility. People’s lives and well-being depend on the guidance they receive. Whenever I share information, I make sure the public knows whether it comes from the other side or from my own understanding. Some of the claims that circulate about the afterlife would be amusing if they were not so misleading, and at times, they make me want to laugh and cry at once.
As for the question of whether we disturb their peace, the answer is still no. If a loved one does not wish to respond, they can choose not to. Let me assure you, though, that they are usually delighted to hear from you. They welcome the opportunity to connect again, just as you are eager to reach out to them. Their emotions and their love for you do not fade once they cross over. Quite the opposite is true; love and connection, go hand in hand.
