Fear is our biggest enemy. It is what keeps us from growing, developing, and evolving. Fear grows as it feeds on our vulnerabilities and insecurities. It not only blocks our path but can also drive us to do things we would never ordinarily do.

It is perfectly reasonable to be startled by certain paranormal events. It is not the norm to wake up in the middle of the night and find a person who has been dead standing by your bed. Similarly, if you hear a strange sound or see an object move, such experiences would naturally frighten anyone because they are unexpected. Most of these experiences pose no threat and cause no harm, and only in extreme and very rare cases have people been hurt.

From my experience, I have found that the less desirable paranormal intrusions are often a response to our own actions. People dabble in things they do not truly understand and, in doing so, may stir energies or open “doors” to other worlds. These doors may, in turn, lead to “uninvited guests.”

I always recommend that people prepare themselves for the strong possibility that they may experience a physical phenomenon at some point in their lives. It usually happens when we least expect it, and when it does, self-control is highly recommended so we can fully appreciate the experience for what it is.

We should also not forget that children are playful, even on the other side. A couple who had lost their very young daughter reported that items frequently went missing from their home, only to reappear in unusual places. In my mind’s eye, I saw their daughter smiling, and I explained to them that she was most likely the harmless culprit. It was her way of letting them know that she was very much around, while also enjoying their funny reactions.
