“The truth is not meant for the masses; only a minority will come to accept what lies beyond the limits of human understanding. Life holds a different, deeper meaning for those who are prepared to embrace the truth.”

I was once closed-minded and opinionated about most things in life, even when my views were flawed. Coming from an IT background, I functioned almost like a computer and saw the world in black and white. When my spiritual journey began and I witnessed inexplicable events and experienced some myself, I started to understand that perhaps there was more to life than I had previously believed. I was stubborn and ignorant, having chosen the safe boundaries of logic, even when I knew that what I was experiencing lay well beyond them.

My psychotherapist and deeply spiritual friend, Paula, would often bring this up. She would tell me that I was suppressing my gift by embracing logic to such an extreme degree.

“Life is not black and white, Garo, but you will learn when you stop living your life behind computers.”

I could not fully understand what she meant, but I trusted her, even though I struggled to reconcile these two sides of life.

Then, one day about twenty-five years ago, while undergoing arduous eye treatment, I had a life-changing experience. I was fully conscious but exhausted from the process, which was affecting me physically, mentally, and emotionally. I closed my eyes to rest and saw a silhouette in my mind’s eye. Then I heard a voice in my head:

“We are expanding your mind for your task ahead…”

The audible message was brief, but it was immediately followed by an overwhelming flood of images, thoughts, and feelings, none of which seemed to be my own. I felt deeply uncomfortable and wanted it to stop. Eventually, it did. I became emotional, and my doctors were concerned about why I was so tearful.

In the days that followed, I felt profound changes taking place within me. I could not sleep and became restless because of the surge of energy. I could not focus and began to feel claustrophobic at home. I went on very long walks that sometimes lasted almost the entire day. I struggled to settle down and felt as though I were losing myself. At times, I wanted to scream.

Then, as mysteriously as it had begun, it suddenly stopped one day, much to my relief.

Everything about me changed after that experience. I felt more settled within myself and more attuned to what I perceived as the other side. The communications came through with clarity and precision. I became more sensitive on every level and felt more deeply connected to the people around me.

Somehow, I lost the negative aspects of myself that had once hindered my path in service, and I gained everything I needed to begin that journey. It was a small price to pay for becoming the person I am today, and I cannot imagine my life in any other way.
