Some people report sudden temperature changes, such as an unexpected chill. Others describe a tingling sensation, either throughout their bodies or in specific areas. Personally, I sometimes feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, along with slight pressure on my shoulders. Neither sensation is uncomfortable, but both give me the distinct impression of an energy other than my own. One particularly interesting observation is that, during a session, whenever I pick up on something that the other side wants to emphasise, I experience goosebumps across my back and shoulders, almost as if to confirm that I am on the right track.

On previous occasions, when attending to houses experiencing disturbances, I have distinctly felt a momentary sense of disorientation, as though a sudden wave of energy has passed through me. The first time this happened, I was confused and a little taken aback because I had not expected anything like it. I have also experienced cold chills when approached by, or simply in the presence of, energies and entities that I would consider less than benevolent. I don’t want to generalise, but as a general rule, positive energies should never make us feel uncomfortable. Quite the opposite, in fact. They tend to leave us feeling calm, reassured and at ease.

Some energies may even manifest through physical contact, such as a gentle nudge or a light touch. Recipients often find these experiences particularly comforting and welcome, as they can closely resemble the familiar ways in which their loved ones once expressed affection. It is remarkable how much reassurance and comfort can come from something as simple as a gentle touch. Spirit seems to understand this well, knowing precisely when to offer these little gestures of affection to lift our spirits and make us feel better.
