When I volunteer as a healer and exorcist at the church, I prepare myself by beginning with a prayer. I ask for permission to be in service and then for protection. I never know what to expect from the patients who come to see me. Most are complex cases that have not received the help they needed and have nowhere else to turn. Some sessions are more intense than others and require delicate care. A few are ominous and can even be threatening, but I persevere. I am assigned the task of helping them, no matter the circumstances.

The interesting thing is that when I am in my element, in the church and during the process, I never feel fear. I believe in the power of prayer and always feel protected and safe, even though, at times, I have had to deal with very dark situations. It is not arrogance but a genuine sense of confidence that comes from knowing we are doing the right thing.

My experiences in the church have taught me a great deal and have made me appreciate my ability more than ever before. Healing is a beautiful, God-sent energy that does wonders around us. I am blessed to be a small part of it, in service of the greater good.
