I came across a similar question online, expressed in a slightly different way, and it inspired me to write this article. It is a profound and meaningful question, one I will answer to the best of my knowledge, drawing on more than forty years of experience as a reader. Throughout my life, I have served over a thousand individuals in this role. Each time a loved one from the other side connected with my clients, they came through with their personalities and memories intact. This reaffirms the understanding that nothing about them seemed lost as a result of their transition. Their humour, love, memories, intelligence, and all the qualities that once defined them remained present.
They appeared to be more evolved in some way. Those who had carried negative issues, whether within themselves or with others, often sought to resolve them. At times, it felt as though, as we draw nearer to The Light on the other side, we pass through a kind of ‘sieve’. This process seems to remove only the negative aspects of our being. The people who come through embody a purer version of themselves, striving to make peace with loved ones who remain on this side of life. I cannot explain how these changes occur, nor do I wish to speculate. The love and beauty of the other side appear to make it impossible for us to cling to the negative aspects of personality. We recognise them, learn from them, and release them.
The only thing we lose when we cross over is that which separates us from The Light.
