It is fascinating how the people we least expect come forward during my sessions. Sometimes, even those we have not given much thought to, or have put behind us for any number of reasons, make themselves known. On many occasions, when children have come through, they have been accompanied by someone older from the other side. My clients usually express surprise when specific individuals appear, often saying, “I did not expect her or him to come through with my child.”

At times, the person accompanying a child from the other side may be someone with whom we have had a falling out. I have conducted sessions in which clients’ jaws have dropped upon learning who was coming through for them. I always encourage clients to welcome whoever presents themselves, even if they are on bad terms. If there were no sincerity on the other person’s part, they would not be able to come through at all. Everyone deserves a second chance.

I am not sure whether Spirit orchestrates these reunions through the child in order to soften the client’s heart, or whether the individual on the other side wishes to serve in that role to redeem themselves. What I love most about these moments is that they bring people closer together on both sides of life. This, above all else, is my mission.
