The principles on the other side are the same as those here on Earth: treat everyone with respect, be courteous, and maintain a balanced approach. Building on these principles, it is important to recognise that the spirits of those who have passed remain human. They retain their identities, memories, and feelings. They should therefore be treated accordingly.
With these thoughts in mind, I once decided to watch a ghost-hunting program on television, as I was curious to learn more. I could not make it past the halfway point. I was deeply shocked. The program began with several self-described researchers entering the cellar of an abandoned house to investigate the source of a reported disturbance. Their method consisted largely of antagonising whatever presence might have been there in order to provoke a reaction. The more dramatic the response, and whatever followed, the more compelling it appeared to be as television entertainment. Drawing on more than forty years of experience, I found myself questioning the program’s authenticity.
I have never approached disturbances in such a manner. I always address the origin of the ‘disturbance’ firmly and respectfully, maintaining self-control at all times. I do not have an audience, nor do I perform for one. My focus remains on understanding the reasons why it is occurring. Such activity usually suggests that someone on the other side is in distress, and my objective is to help resolve the situation rather than intensify frustration. Throughout the process, I remain calm, hold fast to my faith, and take care never to underestimate whoever or whatever may be responsible. It is never random; there is always a reason. More than ever, it is painful and distressing, but I know in my heart that the blessed angels will be there to help; they always are.
