Someone asked me recently whether there is humour on the other side, or whether everything is serious. Do spirits laugh and joke, or are these simply human traits that are left behind?
When we transition to the other side, we go as we are. Our humour, wit, intelligence, and personality remain very much a part of us. We do not simply lose these qualities when we enter a different realm. As we begin our journey, however, we gradually let go of the less desirable characteristics we may have carried with us on this side of life. We are assisted in the process of healing and moving on, and, in doing so, we make room within ourselves for purer, lighter energies. The process is one of purification, as we return to our simpler selves, to innocence.
Of course, the process requires ‘time’, but the blessed angels and our helpers on the other side are patient. The result is that we become lighter and merrier as we release the negative aspects that have been troubling us on earth. Through this internal spring cleaning, we rediscover our peace, which, in turn, resonates with those around us.
I once asked my deeply religious grandfather whether people laughed and whether there was fun in the afterlife. He told me that these were not Godly qualities. I could not fathom an existence, at any level, without joy.
“Let the children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
I have never believed that the other side is ‘serious’ or dull, as some people claim. The other side is a place of healing and joy, of innocent, cheeky fun, and of a happiness that we have yet to attain on this side of life.
