A common question I am often asked is, “Why is my loved one not visiting me from the other side?”

This can be especially frustrating when people have done everything they can think of and followed every piece of advice, yet still receive no signs, contact, or even dreams. The experience can leave them feeling sad and disappointed, sometimes even angry, as they wonder why it happens for others but not for them.

The first thing I explain is that their feelings are valid. They should not feel guilty or embarrassed for having these feelings. Their frustration stems from love; they miss their loved one deeply. They are not asking for much—just some comfort or assurance, any small sign that might help them regain their sense of self, because they feel broken and cut off. They also want to be certain that their loved one has indeed survived death and is “alive” on the other side, wherever that may be.

There are many factors involved, and sometimes the true reason a person wants the experience becomes obscured. I reassure them that the lack of contact is not necessarily their fault and then offer tips that may help. The most important advice is this: if, after trying everything, nothing happens, it may be best to set the effort aside for a while, but never to give up. As the saying goes, “All good things come to those who wait.”

I will share helpful hints and tips in my next article.
