I was speaking with a lady who had lost her dear husband, whom she had known since a very early age. She asked me whether it was true that sometimes our loved ones visit us from the other side, and I explained that it was. She then asked if this was common, and I told her that it happened rarely, though I tried to phrase my answer in a way that might give her some comfort.
“When does it usually happen, Garo?”
“It seems to be mostly when people are in bed.”
“In bed?”
“Yes. It is often described as a beautiful experience, a visitation. Sadly, it is very rare.”
“Oh, good. Whewww.”
Her reaction puzzled me, so I asked whether she would be happy if her husband came back to visit her.
“No way. He’s a bloody ghost now.”
She made a ‘ghostly’ sound and gave me a funny look, then laughed at my startled reaction.
Go figure…
