Unlike other mediums who possess a natural ability to ‘communicate’ with animals, I am not attuned to the animal kingdom. I wish I were because I love animals and, in many ways, find them spiritually purer than us.
Sometimes, pets make their presence known when I am giving a reading, doing so to express their love. I may pick up on some of the feelings and images they wish to convey; some of what comes through is fascinating. Not long ago, I gave a reading to a gentleman whose exceptional dog came through, and she made me see ice cream. My client smiled and said, “Yes, we used to give her ice cream.” It must have been a treat for her, and she was showing her appreciation for my client’s benefit. Animals have a magical effect on our lives; they are here to help us evolve and become better humans.
A therapist friend recounted a story about a client who was very sad because her dog lacked enthusiasm, ate little, and seemed deeply hurt. The therapist invited a medium who was gifted in communicating with animals. The medium lay flat on the floor opposite the dog, and for a long time, they both made the strangest sounds and whines. The dog appeared to cry, and they even saw tears in its eyes.
When the medium finished, they asked him what it was all about. He explained that the dog was sad because he felt no longer needed. His family members were busy with their lives, leaving him out. The dog was confused as to why he was no longer loved, and it hurt him deeply. The family made sure to shower him with love and spend more time with him. He soon recovered and returned to his old self: playful and cheerful.
